Old Singapore

Old and new

The newest

Weather on the way.
The old fire station
Inside a fancy hotel restaurant.
Shopping at Changi airport - the 'best' in the world?

Carve this!

Down at the back of the workshop seen while …waiting.

Up the road from the printer, fortunately only 200 meters, to fix leaking fuel tank 10a.m. This won't take long we thought.

After leaving Lakpahana at 5.15 am we arrived at Godogama at 9a.m.

Our patient driver  ….WAITING…..waiting….. for the 'WELDER'.

More waiting while the WELDER went for lunch.

Breakfast on the way - 7 a.m….making good progress so far.

At The Printer's Place to discuss design of labels for College products.

Cleaning up preparing to 'Fix' (again) the cracked diesel tank of VAN, but what did we find? Much worse problem. Oh, So that is what caused the new rattling sound from underneath the back of our van.  (It has had a long, hard life on not the best roads in Ceylon)

Catastrophe - broken chassis cross member - what to do?  Call the WELDER!

The Last Supper in Colombo - familiar? ….yes good old KFC

The finished weld finally, at long, long, long  last, but well done!

A passing parade seen while waiting . . .waiting… hopefully, expectantly.

The WELDER in action. . . finally, expertly,  but note the safety equipment!

And then our van was at long last eventually put back together and we left at 4.45 p.m. ……7 hours later.  No hurry. What an experience. We had a quick drive to Colombo to try and get the other jobs done - followed by a late supper - and for me on to the airport to board my flight to Singapore ETD, after midnight, so no hurry, yet.  Then 'Goodbye Sri Lanka' after 2 months and many new friends later.

P.S. The pix are not in order as I am a totally inexperienced blogger.  Previous efforts to rearrange have led to frustration and disasterous results, so please bear with me and use your imagination……Joseph

Girls swim time Sunday afternoon.

Floaties are in high demand.

Fun time for the girls.

No bikinis allowed here and no one owns bathers so we just wear our clothes.

We love the pool!

Now it's the boys turn.

Equally as noisy as the girls.

I was happy to jump in and help give a few swim lessons.
