Colombo Kandy Mailapitiya

The Ceylonese adventure begins with tropical sights sounds smells and humidity - after a long, long smooth flight with Singapore airlines from Brisbane on 22 May 2014.

First view of the College from the main road - lush verdant green vegetation.

  1. Well done for a beginner. You sure are taking on an adventure for an oldie. Are you blogging from a computer or from an iPad? It makes a difference . I find it less manageable on the iPad. My only suggestion is keep the number of photos down to between 6 and 12. Bloggers read lots of blogs at a time and they don't want to plough through loads of photos.

    1. Thanks Diane - this will be mainly a picture post for folk to see some of what is here, not a written record.

  2. Well done Joe!
I like all the photos and I READ everything!
Some people only read or look at blogs - never see anything, just like
to see their name up!!! Strange I think. One nationality is very good at this
    stunt!
The SDA mission mob are sure keeping you employed, keeps
    you out of mischief, eh???
Had a great time with Peter and Margaret Lewis in the Hunter - countryside
in pristine green condition. They visited a week later up here. Both Dennis
Burrell and I attended the first lunch at the usual Sofitel Harlequin Bistro.
See Diane's blog for other details of the visit!!!
Have fun and try and stop the boats from there - seems that the Sri-Lanka
    navy is co-operating very efficiently.
Bloody woeful looking cow!!! Maybe you could give agricultural advice on
    feeding cattle???
    Cheers
    A rather surprised

    1. Hi Col….appreciate your response. "Our" cows look a little better than the one up the road. The Principal and his wife were here 45 years ago and have come as volunteers also to restart some of the industries to support the College; The bakery and egg layers are examples. Joe
