  1. Very good photography - but then again I recall that you did have that knack, which I do not possess!
I would keep my distance from those "water buffalo" fellows at the top photo.
They can turn very nasty if the time suits!
I see that the 'chooks' are Isa Browns - amazing how this breed is now so
World Wide. I am pretty sure that these chooks have nothing to do with Mt.Isa
in Qld! They are excellent layers - I hope that they can have a run outside rather than be cooped in those barns 24/7????

Some things don't change do they - the young ones (males) and the finger salute! I hope you do your upmost to discourage this - ha ha????? (Good luck on that one!!!)

You are missing a miserable morning here - still not cold - but that bloody drizzle rain stuff.

    1. Thank you for the compliment. It is amazing what a new little iPhone camera can achieve. No rain yet during the week I have been here, tho we would like some. Unfortunately the Isa Browns do not have an outside run as yet having only been recently acquired. Hopefully in near future……These buffalo seem rather tame but I still intend to give them wide berth. Boys will be boys where ever you find them.

    2. Re: The ISA BROWNS.

Please have this information brought to the attention of your
poultry keepers! I expect soon to see a free range LARGE run for these hens, and keep some with ISA BROWN hens for breeding purposes. Just in case you are unaware, you will need an ISA BROWN rooster for every 12 hens - called egg fertilisation!!!!
Dennis Burrell may offer advice on incubators etc. - don't ask for any other poultry advice from Dennis!!! (ha ha !!!! - it is worthless - I can see him seething with this!)

Pity this breed wasn't available in my TPNG days. I would have been the CHICKEN KING of that God forsaken place. The Ingham family of the tropics! Good old Kambili and Finschhafen would have been the chicken and egg capital of PNG.

It is your duty, Masta Joe, to stop this finger business. I look forward to positive reports. Now get back to your duties - Christian and horticulture.
